Day 19 – Put your Ipod on shuffle and write down the first 10 songs that play.

Well isn’t this exciting. I’m currently sat all prepared with my earphones in ready to start this little post. However, I must warn you all before this that my taste in music can be incredibly embarassing as I love a good cringey song every once in a while 😉

1. Elton John – Electricity.

You’ve gotta love a little bit of Elton every once in a while haven’t you?

I downloaded this song purely from watching my all time favourite childhood film, Eldorado. This film is a classic and i’m pretty sure the director of the film was a bit of a fan of Elton John to be honest. Its just one of those songs that you can sing at the top of your voice and sound amazing in your head.. well, I do anyway.

2. Taylor Swift – I Knew You Were Trouble.

This song is just great for a little party in your head. Rumour has it the song was about Harry Styles – tut tut. But everyone loves Taylor and her angry emotional songs though.

3. Scouting For Girls – Love How It Hurts.

Aw, I actually haven’t listened to this song in a while but I remember being obsessed with it.

4. The Wanted – Glad You Came.

oooooh The Wanted are just too perfect. This is a perfect song for a little holiday jam next to the pool whilst you attempt to get a tan 😉

5. Busted – Air Hostess.

Oh my gosh I am so glad this song came on. I have and always will be obsessed with Busted. I don’t think I will ever get over the fact that I never got to see them on tour before they split up, and is it sad that I actually cried when they announced it? hahahaha. I am still holding on to the hope that they will do a little reunion tour. Fingers crossed.

6. B.O.B – Airplanes.

What a coincidence that this comes on after Air Hostess ey! Think its a sign that I need to go on holiday I think? 😉

7. Daniel Powter – Bad Day.

Where is the moment we needed the most? You kick up the leaves and the magic is lost

This song is just one of those perfect songs that you play when you’re feeling sad and in need of a good cry for no apparent reason.

8. Of Monsters And Men – Sloom.

This song is such a relaxing song that you can just listen to as you do your other things. One of those songs where you can just listen to the story behind it. Love it!

9. The Lumineers – Slow It Down.

Again, this is one of those songs to listen to when you’re down really. I must admit that I had to skip this song so I didn’t get incredibly depressed by the slow and down tone of it hahaha I apologise.

10. Justin Bieber – Boyfriend.

Hahahahahaha oh dear, I’m sorry for the incredibly bad taste in this song. But I literally only downloaded for the ‘I’d like to be everything you want’ bit at the start of the song because to be quite honest I can sing that perfectly (not). But I have to say that his little attempt of rapping is incredibly bad and cringey. But a bit of Justin does no harm!

However, his appearance in the UK recently didn’t really go down well did it? So he has gone down in my books a tiny bit. Sorry Justin 😉

I hope this has given you a little insight into the very different range of songs that I currently have on my ipod. Leave a comment with the cringey songs that appear on your music playlists

30 Day Blogging Challenge: Day 18 – How important you think education is

Yes, education is important to some extent but purely because it allows you to develop your own personalities, learn to cope by yourself and not depend on your parents as much, but most importantly because without school I wouldn’t have ever made the amazing friends that I have.

In my opinion the most important years are Primary School and Secondary School as they show you both the basics and significant things you need to learn in life. But does what we learn actually relate to real life? For example in Science I learnt the periodic time-table, all about different chemical reactions and forces but have I ever actually had to use this information that I spent so long revising? No. In Maths, we learnt algebra but have I ever been in a serious situation where I needed to work out the value of x? Again, no. So the actually education is actually no use to me in real life at all. I get that in some subjects you learn important things that everybody should be aware of such as History, Geography and English because without them you wouldn’t know about the history of the world, about things that take place in different countries and places, or even how to write a letter which do come in handy every once in a while.

But aside from learning these very limited handy things and from making the most amazing friends and memories what else does education have to offer? I loved Primary School and High School but i’m going to be perfectly honest and say that I absaloutely hated college. I thought that the whole experience was incredibly over-rated and just seemed to cause unnecessary stress which just wasn’t worth the wasted energy at all. The lessons seemed to drag and it got to the point where I really didn’t enjoy it there and actually dreaded going every morning. Not because of anything inparticular but just because the work that I was doing wasn’t enjoyable or interesting in any way.

Although, people would argue that without A-levels and a degree then you can’t do well in life or get a good job but who says I can’t be successful just because I don’t have those four irrelevant qualifications? Theres plenty of famous entrepreneurs that if you actually looked into their background they would have no qualifications and have set up their dream business by themselves and are now earning millions. So, give me the time and I will be one of those people who earns so much money, is happy, and is incredibly successful at what I do – and i’ll show those people that their judgements and predictions are wrong.

Also, If you actually think about it the exams nowadays are just a test of memory. Who can actually remember the exact information they were tested on in year 7? Because I certainly can’t and I left school in July 2012 and I have forgotten a third of the things that I was taught purely because I revised so much before the exam that I could just write it all down on the paper and after the exam I could cross it off my list and forget about it. So in the real world if hypothetically I got a degree in Science, how would I possibly be able to do well in that job if within a year most of the things i’ve learnt were no longer stored in my memory, it would be incredibly difficult to do a job where I have forgotten most of the vital information needed to do it. So, in the same amount of time it would take me to go to college and get a degree and anything else that you apparently need to ‘be successful’ I could have been to work, got experience and learned the roles and the REAL information needed for a job. Surely experience is far better than a piece of paper that just leaves you with mega student debts?

I realise I’ve just had a rant for like a million pages but i’ve just completely expressed my opinion and I do understand that everyone will have different opinions and will disagree with me but in no way did I mean to upset anyone as I am entitled to my own opinion too. I hope you enjoy reading my little argument and hopefully you will appreciate my views on the ‘education’ subject hahaha 🙂

I shall upload some pictures and if I can then the videos to my blog later on. Woo woo 🙂

This isn’t a part of the blogging challenge but i’m just posting to update you on the fact that tomorrow will be the day I go to see ONE DIRECTION. The excitement is just too much tbh, and no, I am in no way or do I ever intend to be a ‘directioner’ because they just seem to take stalking to the next level ~ however I am currently obsessed with them and honestly can not wait for tomorrow!

I’m sure i’ll be posting some pictures later on next week so you can share my excitement. woo woo

30 Day Blogging Challenge: Day 15 – Five songs that are currently on top of my playlist

Half way done with the blogging challenge now ~ think i’ve finally got the hang of wordpress now so in 15 days I should be able to do some good posts. I plan to upload a few photographs I plan to take, some of my favourite recipes, things that I have bought, and some book reviews so fingers crossed they go well!

But here we go with the five songs that are currently at the top of my playlist.

  1. At the top is my all time favourite song, She Will Be Loved by Maroon 5. I love this song and its one of those songs that just sticks in your head the whole day. You can give the song a listen here:
  2. How To Save A life by The Fray, I love this song almost as much as I love She Will Be Loved. Its one of those songs that you can just sing to at the top of your voice when nobody else is in the house, or when you’re in the shower. Love it
  3. Third is The Power Of Love by Gabrielle Aplin, this is top because around Christmas time last year I literally put this song on repeat and listened to it over and over for like a week, so obviously this has had a lot of listens on itunes with 20 plays.
  4. Velvet Arms by Jay Loftus – This song is amazing, its so uplifting and fun. I used to be obsessed with it a while ago but then forgot about it until very recently where i’ve been listening to it 24/7 ever since.
  5. Finally is Love Is Easy by the gorgeous Mcfly, love this song! I think very soon this will be the top of my playlist because it never gets boring. I usually listen to a song so much that I start to hate it but it hasn’t happened with this one and it just doesn’t fail to cheer me up. I posted the video further down my blog last month but i’ll link the video from youtube here:

Whats on top of your playlists? Do you share any of the same favourite songs as me? Leave a comment! 🙂

30 Day Blogging Challenge: Day 14 – List 5 people you want to spend your last day with

All I would need on my last day is my family. They make me laugh, cheer me up, and are my best friends. However, I would throw in a couple of my closest friends in there too. And maybe One Direction or Liam Hemsworth of course – since we’re asking for things. So basically:

1. Family, i.e. Mum, Dad, Bradley, Jordan ~ and the rest of the family if they care to join us.

2. Friends

3. Possibly Liam Hemsworth

4. Since we’re throwing people in we could have One Direction in there.

5. And lastly, maybe Louis Walsh – you know, because everybody loves Louis 😉

30 Day Blogging Challenge: Day 13 – 5 things you want for your birthday

My birthdays quite a while off yet but on the 8th July i’ll be turning seventeen which is rather exciting. Here’s a list of some things I’d love to get for my birthday:

1. Driving Lessons – so this year I can finally learn to drive, which is too exciting to handle. This means I’d be able to go to the Trafford Centre like pretty much EVERY day. Once I pass I definitely want either a Fiat 500, a Fiat Punto or the beautiful Vauxhall ADAM. It’s so prettyyyy

2. Ted Baker things – I’m obsessed with Ted Baker things at the minute. Such as the make up bags, ipad cases, purses and dresses. Everything in there is so beautiful and I’d love to have something from there for my birthday.

3. The One Tree Hill box sets – I absolutely love One Tree Hill. It’s by far the best series that has been on TV and I’d love to sit and watch every episode one after each other because I’m sad like that..

4. Make-up – now I can’t get a new Ted Baker make up bag without some new make up to put in it can I?;) I’m currently using MAC, No7 and some Elizabeth Arden products but I’d love to try out the MAC lipsticks, the Urban Decay eye pallets, and maybe even the NARS liquid foundation. If you have tried any of these products, please leave a comment below with your thoughts?

5. The last one is a rather unlikely present but I know that my Dad regularly reads my blog so thought it would be worth a shot since you know there’s no harm in trying. I’d love to go to Ireland, I’ve never actually been but it looks amazing! So Dad if you’re reading this then please take the hint! hahahaha

30 Day Blogging Challenge: Day 12 – What made me cry recently?

I didn’t even have to think about what to write in this blog post and I knew straight away I would focus this on my dog Scraps. I found this blog post harder to write than I thought with parts making me smile and laugh and others beginning to make me cry again. The loss of Scraps on the 21st December 2012 was what made me cry recently. I loved him so much, and miss him everyday.

Above is a picture of me and Scraps playing when I was younger :’)

Scraps was a part of our family ever since I can even remember. I was almost two when we got him so I can’t actually remember my life without him. Scraps was a gorgeous white West Highland Terrier and was a perfect little dog. He would never bite anyone or even lose his temper with us considering I wasn’t the gentlest of people when I was a child as apparently I would drive into him with my pram and all sorts but regardless of this he would continue to play with us, chase us and protect us. When we picked him up, my Brothers always tell me that he chose us before we picked him and as soon as we walked in he ran up to us and began playing and following us. He’s on pretty much all of our pictures in some way as you can see from the pictures above where we played fairies together hahaha.

Scraps was always such a cuddly dog, he would let us stroke him and play all the time. However, sometimes he would be rather mischievous too and would eat any food that he would find regardless of where he found it. On one of my birthdays he ate my birthday cake, he once ate mine and my brothers advent calendars, and on one of my birthdays we noticed he was very quiet and nowhere to be seen, only to find him in the living room with a box of chocolates that was bought for me. At the time I was probably devastated but looking back now it was actually quite funny. Memories like these are the ones I would prefer to remember of scraps rather than the last few months that we had left with him.

In his last few months Scraps was becoming older and less energetic. At one time he would run around the house frantically, bark at the slightest of noises, and when the door would knock he would jump up at the window and run to the door so we would have to open the door very slightly and talk through the tiniest gap as he tried to get out and look. However in the last couple of years Scraps became blind and would walk into doors and walls or any furniture that would be in his way, this upset me as I couldn’t stand to think that he would be hurting himself in any way. As the months went on we noticed that one of his ears no longer stood up and when the door bell went or if we made a sudden movement he wouldn’t bark and sometimes he wouldn’t even notice which made us realise that he could no longer hear either. He then began to sleep an awful lot and would struggle getting up the stairs for his bath or getting outside the door so we began to help lifting him inside and out to make it easier for him. Although he could no longer see or hear, there was no sign of him being in pain or suffering until the last week before he died. There was several days where we would come home and find that he had been unwell whilst we were at school/work which shocked and upset us all so much. The whole family would cry about him and on the Saturday we came to the decision that it was not fair to let him suffer or be in pain and made an appointment with the vet for that morning. He remained in his bed and you could see his distress which made us sure that we had made the right decision for Scraps. Our family ensured he was comfortable and cuddled him and loved him until it was time. Our Nanna and Grandad also came to the Vets with us to make sure we was all okay and to say their goodbyes to Scraps. When the time came we stayed in the room with him where the vet helped him on his way to a better place – while we cuddled him, talked to him and kissed him goodbye.

Although it was the hardest thing that I’ve ever been through, it was definitely the best decision for Scraps and we knew it would have been selfish to let him continue in that way. Scraps died peacefully with all of his close family around him and we will never forget him, ever.

RIP my little Scrappy dog, I will always love you and miss you and there’s not a day that goes by where I don’t think about you. God bless xxxxxxx

30 Day Blogging Challenge: Day 11 – A bad habit I have

So, I was actually stuck for what to write for Todays blog post – aside from the boring old ‘i bite my nails’ I couldn’t really think of a bad habit that I could tell you about.. so I approached my family to help me, since they know me better than anyone, they’ll be able to identify my bad habits easier.

The first thing my Dad said was that I have a bad habit of accidentally forgetting my money when I go shopping with him. But of course, it is an honest mistake hahaha. I’m a total shoppaholic but, as seen in my ’20 facts about myself’ blog post from Day 6 of the Blogging Challenge, I hate to spend my money. I think its because usually when I go shopping with friends I end up buying loads of things and when I come home I regret buying it all.. and ever since I have had a phobea of spending money. (i’m joking, its not that serious but I do dislike it)Therefore, when I go shopping with my Dad i use the excuse ‘i’ll pay you back when we’re home’ or ‘theres no point taking my bag’ etc, (hahaha feel free to use my techniques) 😉 Sometimes I do genuinely forget my purse but most of the time I ‘accidentally’ leave it behind. Recently, I have been good at spending my money though but I use ‘shall we go halves?’ with my parents so I get a great discount really.

But, if you knew me you would be really proud of me as yesterday I went for a good old shop at the Trafford Centre AKA heaven and spent some of my own money. I spent £18 in Accessorize and bought a beautiful statement necklace and some cute daisy earrings. And then bought myself a leather jacket and some boots from Republic. I am so proud of myself.

I am working on my habit you see. If only you could buy expensive things but without spending any money. Somebody really needs to invent something so I can do that.

I know its not really a typical bad habit but I thought this was a better approach to the post as I could write more about it and any readers would be able to learn something else about me – that I love to shop.
