Reading is pretty much my favourite thing to do. I love it when I get a new book where once you start reading then you just can’t put it down. When i’m reading I have to read to the end of each chapter, i don’t really know whether its normal or part of my OCD but anyway I tell myself that I’ll read one chapter and then put it down etc but I love it when you just end up reading chapter after chapter after chapter until the point where you’ve nearly read the book and completely lost the track of time. Call me a nerd but I would definitely choose a good book over the TV. I’ve read a few books recently that I haven’t been able to put down and these include One Perfect Summer by Paige Toon, Where Rainbows End by Cecelia Ahurn, and of course Safe Haven but my all time favourite books are The Hunger Games Trilogy.
When I heard that The Hunger Games was going to be coming out at the cinema, I wanted to buy the books because like every film the books are always better. The Hunger Games didn’t at first appeal to me because its not really the type of book I read because i’m a sucker for a good little love story as you can see from the books I mentioned earlier. However, my friend started reading it and she told me it was amazing so I decided to give it a go and oh my gosh I loved it. I’m so thankful there was three books and it wasn’t just over after one. Each book fits together perfectly and each book is equally as good. The reader instantly connects with Katniss and Peeta and all the way through you want them to end together but in the second novel when Gale is properly introduced its difficult to chose between them both. The book is mainly about the reapings and The Hunger Games itself but there is also a little love story underneath the tragic deaths of the tributes between Katniss and Peeta and this continues through each of the books but it is unsure of whether Katniss will chose Peeta or Gale and this is only properly revealed at the end of the last book, The Mockingjay.
I 100% recommend these books to read, I loved each of them just as much and can’t wait for the second film to come out in the cinema. However, I do have to admit that the film was good but nowhere near as good as the books as there are certain parts that are not captured in the film but adds to the story which made the film less effective, so if you didn’t enjoy the film then don’t let it put you off the books because you are missing out.. trust me!
Leave a comment below with your favourite books and i’ll try to give them a read too:-)
Ta ta for now,
